American experts named the best SUV of 2024

Design

An off-road-oriented car could win a competition on looks alone. Lexus has long tormented its SUVs with horrible spindle grilles. The spindle design is still present in the new GX, but it has been modernized to a stately panel that looks good but isn't too flashy.

Interior

Instead of putting all the controls on a touchscreen, Lexus has given the GX's interior a serious thought, with real tactile buttons. Every control is easy to find and use. At the same time, the touchscreen is responsive and easy to navigate.

Powerplant

The 3.4-liter twin-turbo V6 is smooth and unobtrusive, producing 349 hp and 649 Nm of torque. This is enough to make this 2574 kg SUV move easily and quickly on the highway.

Price

Cheaper than many competitors, the GX starts at $65,285.

Depending on preferences, you can choose a luxury-oriented trim with massage seat features and 22-inch wheels, or go off-road and choose a trim with specialized rock crawling technology with all-terrain tires. This versatile car can do almost anything and go anywhere.

In Ukraine, the base version of the Overland SUV costs UAH 4,124,469 (approximate $97,877 — ed.), and the top-of-the-line Luxury+Pano will cost from UAH 4,390,713 (approximate $104,195 — ed.).
